Kmart are modernising and optimising our end-to-end supply chain systems and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, deliver a safer working environment for our team and faster delivery of products that delight our customers to nearly 500 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. We are creating the next generation of retail supply chain technology with be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems.
We are looking for an experienced Integration and Automation QA Engineer to join our team to embark on the next chapter of our Supply Chain integration journey and support the implementation of a new WMS (Warehouse Management System). As part of an investment to uplift our supply chain capability, this role will focus on ensuring the quality and functionality of software integrations across various platforms and automating test processes to ensure more efficient, repeatable, and reliable testing cycles. You will work closely with development, product, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain integration and automation tests for our WMS applications.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, develop, and execute test cases to validate integration points between different systems, applications, and services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, product managers, and system architects) to understand integration requirements and define test strategies
- Validate data flow and ensure that integration points between systems are working correctly (APIs, files transfers, web services, databases, etc.)
- Perform end-to-end integration testing to ensure the seamless interaction between disparate software systems
- Document detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases with steps in depth for reusability creating test data that is required to execute the test cases or to support other teams if needed.
- Design and develop automated tests for new features, integrations, and regression testing using industry-standard automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, Cucumber, or similar)
- Track and report test progress, test results, and defect status to stakeholders
- Report bugs and facilitate meetings to ensure defects are fixed and quality is maintained
- Implement continuous integration (CI) pipelines to run automated tests as part of the software development lifecycle
- Establish strong, constructive and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders across cross functional teams.
- Plan and deliver test execution work to agreed standards and timeframes as an individual, part of a team or a leader of a small team.
To be successful in the role you’ll have:
- 3+ years of experience working in integration testing and test automation
- Proven experience as a QA tester or a similar role with being proficient in all phases of Testing Life Cycle across planning, testing, execution, requirement traceability, defect tracking and reporting
- Strong knowledge of API testing (RESTful, SOAP) and web services
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks for both web and API based applications (e.g., Karate, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Postman)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integration of automated tests into CI pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and testing in cloud environments is a plus
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams
- Strong understanding of supply chain concepts and knowledge on WMS solutions using Manhattan Active in a retail environment will be advantageous
