Kmart are modernising and optimising our end-to-end supply chain systems and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, deliver a safer working environment for our team and faster delivery of products that delight our customers to nearly 500 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. 

We are creating the next generation of retail supply chain technology with be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems.   

As a Solution Architect you will support the delivery function by designing, developing and communicating architectural models, processes, tools and standards as they relate to the technology delivery domain.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Lead API integration efforts to ensure seamless communication between systems.
• Oversee AWS deployment processes, ensuring robust and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and manage microservices architecture to enhance system modularity and flexibility and Utilize Kafka for efficient data streaming and real-time processing.
• Collaborate with the Architecture function and key stakeholders to deliver technological solutions that meet business objectives.
• Define and regularly update the future architecture to align with business goals.
• Track and limit technical debt to maintain robust and scalable architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Ensure solutions align with industry’s best practices and organizational standards.

 To be successful in the role you’ll have:  

• 3-5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or similar role.
• Proven experience in Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Strong background in API integration and AWS deployment.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and Kafka.
• Experience with warehouse management systems or end to end supply chain is highly desirable
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
