Our Distribution team

Getting the products we love into the hands of happy customers is what we do best, from the remote countryside to coastal towns and big cities and everywhere in between. As you know, our distribution teams play a big role in our business.

You'll be joining a highly motivated team that prides itself on having a super-fast supply chain network unloading, sorting, and sending products out to the store network.


What you’ll be doing

As a Operations Manager in our Kmart Distribution Centre you’ll:       

  • Have full responsibility for planning the daily operation to achieve daily operation on site to deliver safety, leadership, service and financial performance targets are met
  • Execute One simple way of working planning process collaboratively with stores, Kmart CI and functional Team Managers, plan effective resourcing to meet productivity targets, produce accurate reporting for stores on transport and cluster and load via planning tool
  • In the absence of DC Manager, assume full DC Manager responsibilities operationally for the period of absence. Delegates operational manager responsibility to either Operations planning Manager, CI Manager or relevant team manager.
  • Lead and Execute agreed plan either via third party providers or direct Kmart team managers of resources to meet productivity targets and improvements
  • Lead, drive and champion continual improvement culture
  • Manage service providers to deliver against agreed service levels and KPIs, as per their 3PL service level agreements and job descriptions
  • Sign off operational specifications and participate in procurement processes as operational subject matter expertise
  • Provide Subject Matter expert collaboration and communication of Kmart requirements to service providers


To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Warehouse Management System knowledge & experience
  • Occpational, Health & Safety  knowledge and experience
  • Industrial Relations Understanding. Including EBA
  • Warehouse Management System knowledge & experience
  • Computer skills, IT and System skills to execute Kmart Planning Tool requirements
