We’re on the search for a Social Media Manager who can push boundaries, build vibrant online communities, and create engagement that makes an impact. As our Social Media Manager, you’ll play a critical role in crafting and executing strategies that drive organic growth and increase engagement across our social media channels. What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Implement and manage the ongoing development of Kmart's social media strategy—from the latest platforms to emerging trends, you’ll be steering our social ship.

  • Manage the social media calendar, ensuring a well-planned and engaging presence across all channels.

  • Drive the growth and performance of Kmart's social media platforms, using data-driven insights to optimize and expand our reach, and share the reporting of this.

  • Oversee the execution of social media briefs, delivering engaging, on-brand content that captivates audiences.

  • Foster and grow our online community, boosting engagement, expanding our following, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

  • Stay ahead of the game with ongoing competitive and industry analysis to ensure Kmart remains a leader in digital engagement and social innovation.

  • Leverage and report on key performance metrics, using these insights to increase customer frequency and unlock cross-category sales opportunities.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams and other departments to finalize briefs and content. Sometimes even building the content yourself. 

  • Manage external agency input, and create social strategies that align with broader business goals.

 

To Be Successful in This Team You Will Have:

 

  • A proven track record in using social media to strategically grow a brand, increase customer engagement, and harness large-scale customer advocacy.

  • Be a digital native who thrives on community management and is passionate about building meaningful customer relationships.

  • A deep understanding of trade dynamics and how to turn business insights into high-impact social media plans.

  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and technologies, with a hunger for staying up-to-date.

  • A customer-first mindset with an enthusiasm for enhancing brand reputation and loyalty.

  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in a similar social media or community management role. Extra points for anyone with retail experience (gained from agency or client side).

  • A proven ability to implement new processes involving multiple functions or departments, ensuring effective social media operations in a complex business environment.

  • A self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, who thrives in fast-paced, evolving settings.
