The Customer Experience and Insights unit builds deep understanding of Kmart and Target’s customer behaviour as well as drives customer centric decision making throughout the organisation. The Online Analytics function within the unit is primarily responsible for the development and delivery of actionable insights to unlock opportunities for both Kmart and Target’s Online trade function.


We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our high performing team. The role reports to the Online Analytics Manager and will be responsible for analysing online performance and delivery of actionable insights to support business decision making and identify opportunities for better customer outcomes.


What you’ll be doing


  • Working with senior stakeholders to understand their business problems and drive commercial outcomes by providing impartial, hard-hitting, actionable insights based on accurate, trustworthy data

  • Proactively contributing to the evolution of the online analytics roadmap

  • Delivery of BAU and ad-hoc analysis to drive Online Trade function decision making process and unlock new opportunities

  • Contributing the development of digital data capability and evaluate data assets to ensure requirements and quality standards are met

  • Partnering with business units to improve analytics practice and leverage multiple quantitative customer inputs to produce cohesive, compelling narrative

  • Leading root cause analysis into changes in customer behaviour

  • Managing delivery of insights by coordinating across business stakeholders as well as onsite and offshore analytics team members


To be successful in this team you will have:


  • A minimum 3 years in a similar stakeholder-oriented analytics role

  • Expertise in web analytics particularly in Google Analytics, Tag management and Big Query with advance SQL skills

  • Demonstratable strong communication skills, written and oral, with a track record of translating complex concepts into easy-to-understand language

  • Strong commercial acumen: able to derive customer centric insight aligned with organisational goals and considerate of market forces

  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, experienced in analysing structure and unstructured data

  • Demonstratable experience with Big Data, Cloud technologies and familiarity with enterprise data warehouses and visualisation tools (e.g., PowerBI)

  • Proven ability to partner with data engineering and science functions to set out data requirements that enable effective analysis and insight generation

  • Strong strategic retail experience

  • Ability to foster strong and impactful relationships with team members, the wider analytics organisation and business stakeholders

  • Experience in agile working methodology highly regarded
