As a People and Capability (P&C) Business Partner for our global Technology team, you will partner with three of our General Managers to enable them to deliver their strategic people plans. Your role will also be pivotal in consistently driving key outcomes related to talent management, employee engagement and organisational capability whilst contributing significantly to the Technology team’s culture.

 

Reporting directly to the Head of People and Capability, you will partner with other Technology P&C Business partners who support the CIO and other senior Technology leaders globally and also have a passion for making a real impact. We're not just looking for someone with P&C expertise; we need a commercially minded individual who truly understands business partnership and how Technology teams are structured.

What you’ll be doing

 

As a People & Capability Business Partner, working for Kmart and Target, you will:         

 

  • Have end-to-end accountability for delivering the P&C strategic people plan for your respective client groups in partnership with other Technology P&C Business Partners. This involves partnering with three General Managers and their broader teams to align people initiatives with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the P&C centres of excellence to drive initiatives across your client group.
  • Take ownership of the cyclical people activities for your client group.  
  • Identify future functional capability needs, which include building succession plans, deploying capability programs, coaching for performance, and managing people-related change.
  • In consultation with the Employee Relations team, manage employee and industrial relations issues and conduct relevant investigations into complaints and grievances.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance our workplace culture and diversity & inclusion initiatives.
  • Influence and coach managers and team members to model the desired values and leadership behaviours to create a positive culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly in the tech and digital space, to address identified people needs.  

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • A minimum of five years of P&C business partner experience, with at least two years partnering with technology and digital teams in a large-scale, fast-paced environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, or a business-related discipline, will be highly regarded.
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering results, actively driving a people plan and positively impacting organizational performance.
  • The capacity to be an effective and positive change agent, continually evaluating and championing change initiatives
  • A trusted business partner that can build strong relationships, engage with confidence and influence to achieve key business outcomes.
  • An autonomous self-starter who is a generous and supportive team player, who shares their knowledge and time with other colleagues.
  • Demonstrated skills in building leadership capability and strong relationships with General Managers, as well and exceptional communication, decision making and influencing skills.
