We have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise Planner to join our Team! You will be responsible for merchandise planning and in collaboration with Category Managers, curate the Khub range offer. You will also coordinate inventory flow requirements with the inventory team including maintaining system parameters for Demand & Forecast as well as undertaking regular and proactive analysis of merchandise and store performance in order to maximise the department’s financial outcomes.

 

What you’ll be doing

As a Merchandise Planner - Khub working for Kmart you will:          

  • Develop and assist in building the merchandise range.
  • Manage the KHub merchandise financial plan to achieve sales, calculate income, stockturn budgets.
  • Assist with preparing budgets and forecasts in line with required timelines (review and analyse sales and inventory performance).
  • Manage product lifecycles to make strategic tactical investment/divestment decisions.
  • Confirming apparel options for apparel inventory teams.
  • Run weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports to support team in analysing department.
  • Provide recommendations and implement action plans to maximise the department’s financial outcomes.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels for New Store opening and Store Refurbishment relaunches
  • Maintain availability of all products for stores at agreed targets.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  •  3-5 years experience in a similar role or field of work
  • Knowledge of merchandise financial plans to achieve sales, gross profit
  • Sound knowledge of DC Replenishment Systems, Excel, Word & Outlook systems
  • Strong analytical and communication skills,
  • Thorough follow up skills and attention to detail
  • Problem investigation and resolution skills
  • Strong Customer Focus
  • Understanding of inventory management within a retail environment 
  • Retail store and apparel experience would be an advantage
