Our Kmart Store Systems Team is responsible for managing the IT Applications that supports our 330 Kmart stores across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking a Full Stack .NET Engineer to join the team, where we are dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of our hand-held devices, optimising inventory levels, and creating a seamless experience for both customers and staff.  Be a part of the digital transformation that is building bespoke, best in class software solutions, revolutionising the way we operate and serve our customers.

 

What you’ll be doing 

 

  • Developing and implementing of Full Stack Software solutions using C# / .NET, MSSQL and PowerShell.
  • Leveraging cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to enhance system scalability and performance.
  • Assist in maintaining the posture of our Store Systems, through high coding standards identifying and pro-actively rectifying vulnerabilities discovered in our products.
  • Delivering software leveraging modern DevOps practices, emphasizing CI/CD and automation testing for optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Utilising Kafka Streaming tools in our development environments leveraging Apache Flink.
  • Demonstrating expertise in API development building seamless integration and communication between systems.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of existing products and the development of new features on existing applications that position our business at the cutting edge of retail technology.
  • Showcasing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex challenges.
  • Supporting requirements gathering and technical design, contributing to the overall success of the development process.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in Full Stack .NET development using C# / SQL and PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and automation testing and working knowledge of Github & Github Actions.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Proficiency in API development using REST.
  • Coding and unit testing of new software products using clean code principles.
  • Experience in maintaining existing products and developing new features on existing applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Apache Flink is considered highly advantageous.
  • Candidates with experience building software for large scale retail businesses are encouraged to apply.
