Our Stores Infrastructure Team is responsible for managing the core IT Infrastructure that supports our 520 Kmart and Target stores across Australia and New Zealand.

 

As a Red Hat Server Engineer in the Store Technical Services team you will work with a team of retail technology specialists, enhancing, maintaining and supporting our critical store servers.  You will play a pivotal role in a highly specialised team as we develop and roll out innovative new solutions to remain at the cutting edge of retail technology.

 

This role will initially be offered as a 12-month Fixed Term position and may become permanent in the future.

 


What you’ll be doing

Joining us at a critical time, you will take ownership for Administering Servers (Red Hat OpenShift) , that support the Everseen Loss Prevention application installed in 270 Kmart stores.

 

Additionally you will:

  • Administer and build RedHat OpenShift servers supporting a container based Loss Prevention application.

  • Develop, configure and run Ansible Playbooks/Scripts for use in a distributed, and highly secure managed environment.

  • Take responsibility for managing Advanced Cluster Manager to ensure efficient operation, high availability and scalability of our servers.

  • Work in concert with our Vendors and key project stakeholders as we roll out upgrades, enhancements and functionality configuration changes to our Red Hat OpenShift servers.


To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Server Engineer, working in complex enterprise environments, ideally administering geographically dispersed infrastructure.

  • Excellent knowledge of AWS EC2 Technologies, Red Hat OpenShift, Ansible and Advanced Cluster Management.

  • Extensive capabilities in building Ansible playbooks hosted within AWS workspace.

  • Experience in associated tools to manage the Red Hat Openshift Kubernetes servers  including Github, Jump boxes and secure access management is considered highly advantageous.

  • Prior experience in Retail environments, as well as experience gained in mixed vendor environments is also highly regarded.

  • Well-rounded communication skills as well as a collaborative approach to Systems Engineering and supporting stakeholders with varying technical capabilities.
