An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced retailer to join us as a Space Planning Team Leader, reporting to the Head of Space Planning. This will be a 12 month fixed term contract. The role will primarily be responsible for driving standardisation, consistency, and best practice throughout Kmart's Space Planning approach, by driving and delivering clear direction for our high performing Space Planning Team!  

 

This role would be ideal for a confident leader who has a high level understanding of Apparel and General Merchandise and has a strong understanding of the Buying, Planning, Space Planning and Store Operations functions, ideally within a large retailer.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Space Planning Team Leader working for Kmart you will:          

 

  • Ensuring the delivery of embedded space planning critical path and standards are in line with Business standards, merchandise timelines, and in-store operational standards.
  • Leadership and management of Space Planners to achieve great collaboration, teamwork and great KPI's
  • Ensure range commitments fit space allocation and drive innovation in the utilisation of space.
  • Collaborate with merchandise teams to achieve optimum flows including incorporating store/operational feedback to improve layouts and space plans.
  • Ensure that planograms are optimised with financial, visual and operational metrics.
  • Work cross functionally to drive productivity and ensure an enhanced customer experience.
  • Place the customer at the forefront of every decision when managing space across the Kmart store network.
  • Oversee a small portfolio along with your team.


 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • A solid background in Store Operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiations and influencing skills and be a confident communicator.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and build trusting relationships.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • A natural flair for problem solving and have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Visual Merchandising experience would be highly regarded.
