Our Space Planners play an exciting role in making sure our full range of much loved products have a home in our stores and the department layout reflects an excellent customer experience! In this role you will use your experience and Space Planning skills to work collaboratively with our Merchandise teams. You will generate planograms that will assist team members with implementation guidelines throughout our extensive store network.  

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Space Planner working for Kmart, you will:    

      

  • Drive innovation in the utilisation of store space, whilst ensuring space allocations meet range commitments.
  • Ensure planograms reflect the Kmart business strategy, merchandising principles and customer buying patterns
  • Ensure planograms are optimised using financial, visual and operational guidelines.
  • Provide accurate and timely layout information to the relevant category and merchandise teams as required
  • Coordinate all communications of layout changes to our store teams and ensure they can be executed in the most operationally efficient way.
  • Using Power BI and Space Optimisation reporting, review generic floor plans to maximise space opportunities and product capacity to drive sales/profit for Kmart

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Retail / merchandise / space planning experience within the Apparel and/or General Merchandise space 
  • Demonstrated capability in negotiation, influencing and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience using MS Office, Power BI and Space Management software (Spaceman and/or Blue yonder)
  • A hands-on approach and the ability to set up physical concepts in stores
  • A creative side to you coupled with a proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Outstanding communication, planning and organisational skills
