Kmart are modernising and optimising our end-to-end supply chain systems and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, deliver a safer working environment for our team and faster delivery of products that delight our customers to nearly 500 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. 

We are creating the next generation of retail supply chain technology with be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems.   

As a Solution Architect you will support the delivery function by designing, developing and communicating architectural models, processes, tools and standards as they relate to the technology delivery domain.

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Support the delivery function by designing, developing, and communicating solution architectures in line with enterprise processes, tools, and standards.
  • Work with the wider architecture community and engineering teams in building and enhancing reusable architecture/design artifacts.
  • Work collaboratively with the Architecture function as well as key stakeholders and teams across technology and business, to deliver technology solutions that meet business objectives in an iterative, cost-effective, and innovative manner through architecture that enables continuous, at-speed change.
  • Work with the architecture board in getting approval for designs and business cases.
  • Define and regularly update the future architecture, track and limit technical debt, and contribute to the relevant solutions.
  • Define and own the architecture to integrate multiple SAAS and on prem applications including a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Define and own the architecture for a modern integration and service layer that hosts the APIs and Kafka-based microservices.

 

To be successful in the role you’ll have:  

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or similar role in the supply chain domain.
  • Experience implementing/integrating a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a must.
  • Strong background in API integration and microservices architecture.
  • Expertise in building/designing supply chain solutions.
  • Expertise in building cloud native and hybrid architectures. (AWS and GCP preferred).
  • Architecture certifications preferred (TOGAF, AWS etc.).
  • Retail domain experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
