Join the team

As an Engineer, you will be joining Kmart's Digital & Online team. This team looks after the public facing Kmart Website and new Mobile App, which millions of customers engage with. This team are looking to create an exciting and valuable e-commerce platform with new features, to create a unique shopping experience for customers both online and instore.

 

What you’ll be doing

As an Engineer working for Kmart you will:          

  • Building and Implementing user interface for large scale websites.
  • Use TypeScript and also Jest Testing frameworks for coding and Unit Testing.
  • Build contemporary frontend frameworks using React or Vue.
  • Ideally have experience with NodeJS and frameworks such as Next.js and know when to apply server-side rendering.

 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience or familiarity with Micro-Frontend architecture.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and Data Layers.
  • Experience with feature toggles (feature flags) using Optimizely or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of SEO and how that affects your solutions.
  • Know how to build and test accessibility of your solutions.
  • Can implement a design working closely with UX/CX Designers in agile framework.
  • Retail or ecommerce experience would be advantageous.
  • DevOps / Cloud native mindset: we have dedicated cloud engineers in each squad and each squad owns what it builds

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Excellent knowledge of continuous integration, infrastructure as code, application release automation concepts, frameworks & tool.
  • Experience in API Testing using POSTMAN.
  • Well versed with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with hybrid framework like React Native.
  • Good to have experience with languages such Nodejs, Typescript
  • Experience with Cross Device testing (Browser Stack)
  • AWS cloud experience is highly desirable
