As our Senior Program & Governance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading key projects that shape the future of our stores. What you’ll be doing
Â
As an Senior Program & Governance Manager working for Kmart Group, you will be: Â
Â

Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives that enhance customer and team member experience in stores

Oversee project delivery governance to ensure initiatives are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards

Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business—including Property, Technology, and Operations—to drive cross-functional alignment

Develop and embed project management frameworks, templates, and tools to support consistent delivery practices

Monitor and report on program performance, risks, and dependencies using tools like Jira, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet

Provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership

Champion a culture of delivery excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation

Influence and support business stakeholders on PMO maturity, processes, and execution disciplines

Facilitate program governance forums and ensure clear accountability for delivery outcomes
Â
To be successful in this role you’ll have:Â
- 3-5 years’ experience in program, portfolio, or PMO roles within a corporate environment
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in retail, commercial, or customer-focused settings – like store development
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, governance, and risk management
- Demonstrated experience producing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and presentations
- Proficiency with project and portfolio tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet)
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- A strategic mindset with the ability to zoom in on detail while steering big-picture outcomes
- Strong data analysis capabilities, particularly in Excel, to support insights and performance tracking
- A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach, even in ambiguity or fast-paced change
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for influence, negotiation, and cross-team coordination
