As the Senior Manager Risk & Resilience, you will lead the risk and resilience processes across Kmart Group. Your mission is to foster a strong risk culture and support the business in identifying and managing key risks that may impact the Kmart Group strategy and its focus on growth and operational excellence. Acting as a second-line subject matter expert, you will provide guidance on all aspects of risk management, including change, technology, cyber, privacy and AI. Your influence will help leaders across the Group understand the value of effective risk and compliance practices, enabling them to implement efficient controls and embed best-practice frameworks into their operations.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Senior Manager Risk and Resilience working for Kmart Group you will:  

        

  • Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the risk and control assessment within the Risk & Compliance team, delivering on key strategic pillars such as automation, AI, and data analytics to provide timely assurance.
  • Establish a well-regarded controls advisory offering that provides timely fit-for-purpose advice to help business leaders make decisions on how best to manage risks.
  • Drive the implementation of contemporary Risk and Governance frameworks that align with the Group’s business strategy, appetite and embed a strong risk culture.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and confidence through automated assurance across key business risk areas within Kmart Group, leveraging your expertise in technology, cyber, AI, privacy/data protection, and by establishing a robust controls advisory service offering.
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring of key risks and business processes and lead the preparation of quarterly Audit & Risk Committee reports covering risk insights, control effectiveness, mitigations, risk appetite, and resilience, aligned with leadership and corporate expectations.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to develop a coordinated and balanced approach to Business Resilience that reflects risk appetite, organisational values, operational needs, and customer expectations.
  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of crisis management planning processes and procedures to minimise the impact of incidents on Kmart Group’s people, assets, and the environment including the design and execution of training and simulation exercises to ensure the organisation is well-prepared for crisis scenarios.
  • Facilitate risk workshops across business units and corporate functions and deliver training programs, including both online e-learning modules and face-to-face sessions, to build risk and resilience capability among Kmart Group executives and business leaders.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience within risk across a large-sized complex multinational organisation.   
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a fast paced, dynamic, change environment.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced or intricately regulated environment, where meeting strict deadlines is paramount. 
  • A Relevant qualification in Risk Management, Business, Information technology, Cyber, AI, Commerce or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in crafting and implementing training programs and frameworks to improve maturity. 
  • Strong communication skills and a keen ability to advocate for risk and governance priorities. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management standards and frameworks (ISO31000, ISO 27001, CISM, CISA).
  • Expert knowledge and governance of technology, cyber related risks, automation, AI, and building a positive risk culture.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, influencing and cross functional engagement skills to build deep and powerful stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficiency in PowerBi, PowerApps, or project management software highly desired.  
  • The capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a culture of shared success.
