Kmart Australia’s Merchandise and Supply Chain technology group is responsible for bringing products that delight our customers from across the globe into our stores throughout Australia and New Zealand. Â
We are creating the next generation of retail supply chain technology with be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of technical design and implementation for our online store. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and leadership abilities. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of excellence.  This role will be offered on an initial 12-month, fixed term basis.
What you’ll be doingÂ

- Develop high-quality software applications using Java Spring Boot and Docker.
- Implement testing and security validation practices to ensure the integrity of applications.
- Automate the delivery of cloud infrastructure and applications using tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
- Work with AWS and related cloud technologies to optimize deployment and performance.
- Design and implement solutions using event-driven architecture with Kafka.
- Collaborate effectively within a team using Agile delivery principles and tools like Jira & Confluence.
- Utilise CI/CD practices and automation to streamline the development process.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:

- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in Full-Stack Java software development using Spring Boot.
- Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Technologies (ECS or EKS, EC2, RDS, CloudFormation)
- Exposure to CI/CD tools – GitHub actions, Jenkins, Buildkite etc is preferred
- Exposure to GraphQL is highly advantageous
- Preferred exposure to containerisation using Docker.
- Proven experience in Agile environments, utilizing SCRUM and/or KANBAN delivery techniques.
- Experience working in retail, supply chain, or logistics verticals is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and automation practices.
