Join the team
Join our International Supply Chain (ISC) team in a 12-month fixed term contract, where you’ll join a high-performing and service-focused culture. You’ll oversee all imports and exports across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring operations run seamlessly and meet all Customs and Quarantine requirements. Helping shape our ISC strategy and achieving our stretch goals — Identifying cross functional improvement opportunities and unlocking smarter ways to work.

You’ll also play a key role in optimising our systems, ensuring data integrity, insightful reporting to drive the right decision, and powerful forecasting that supports both the International Supply Chain function and the wider business.

What you’ll be doing
Â
As a Senior Customs and Operations Manager working for Kmart Group, you will be: Â
Â
- Deliver the International Supply Chain (ISC) vision, strategic objectives, and budgets while driving continuous improvement and cost efficiencies.
- Oversee all import and export operations for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance with Customs, Quarantine, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight providers, and government agencies to maintain competitive rates, strong service levels, and streamlined cross-border trade.
- Monitor and achieve key service metrics, including container clearance, demurrage control, and DIFOT targets.
- Implement best practices, process improvements, and technology solutions to enhance productivity and reduce end-to-end costs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (DCs, Inventory, Merchandise, Suppliers) to resolve issues and mitigate operational risks.
- Provide business updates of potential impacts to operations and work with internal and external teams on contingencies
- Provide data analysis, reporting, and forecasting to support business decisions and strategic projects.
- Identify external trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure ISC strategy remains effective and future-focused.
Â
To be successful in this role you’ll have:Â
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on destination operations.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of supply chain and inventory processes and terminology.
- Ideally experience working in a retail, or logistics/3PL environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer service mindset.
- Evidence of strong problem-solving skills and analytical way of thinking
