We have an exciting new opportunity for SEO Specialist to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract! The SEO Specialist will support the delivery of SEO initiatives to strengthen Kmart and Target's foundational search performance and organic visibility. This role will focus on technical SEO improvements, content optimisations, and supporting the broader roadmap in collaboration with the SEO Lead.Â
What you’ll be doing
As an SEO Specialist working for Kmart you will:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Perform website technical audits to identify crawlability, indexation or performance issues, and provide recommendations that will drive SEO improvement
- Assist in forecasting traffic and financial outcomes of implementing SEO initiatives, and validating impact after implementation
- Perform content gap analysis based on keyword research and competitor research
- Optimise title tags, meta descriptions, heading tags, internal links and body content against keyword and search trends, following SEO best practice
- Assist in developing an SEO content strategy for new brands and categories being introduced to Kmart’s marketplace
- Guide stakeholders on tactical SEO content and search recommendations to support product launches, campaigns and content marketing

The SEO Specialist is a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, highly proficient in technical SEO, SEO content and link building strategies, and has a passion for staying ahead of industry trends.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
Â
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, retail or marketplace experience desired
- Deep understanding of SEO principles with comprehensive, proven knowledge of technical, on-page and off-page SEO best practices
- Full-stack SEO with extensive experience in content strategy, technical SEO and off-page SEO
- Skills in keyword research, optimising meta data, heading structure, internal linking and copy with great proofreading skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions
- Basic experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, BrightEdge, Screaming Frog, Oncrawl and split testing tools with experience troubleshooting technical crawling and indexing issues
