We’re seeking a strategic, data-driven Retail Crime Lead to design and deliver cutting-edge crime prevention strategies across our stores, eCommerce, and supply chain. In this trusted advisory role, you’ll work closely with a skilled investigations team to identify, investigate, and disrupt retail crime offenders. You’ll also oversee key platforms used to detect internal fraud and eCommerce-related threats, using intelligence and analytics to guide decision-making and drive coordinated, business-wide responses that protect our people, customers, and operations.

 

What you’ll be doing

As a Retail Crime Lead working for Kmart Group you will:        

  

  • Lead the development and execution of crime prevention initiatives aligned to business priorities and risk appetite.
  • Analyse enterprise-wide crime trends and emerging threats, recommending targeted mitigation strategies.
  • Optimise and govern Profit Protection platforms (Accertify, Auror, Appriss) to ensure best-in-class detection and prevention.
  • Collaborate with Investigations, Legal, Law Enforcement, and operational leaders to reduce financial exposure and shrink.
  • Guide covert security strategies, manage external providers, and track performance against budgets and KPIs.
  • Provide senior leadership with predictive analytics and commercial cases to inform investment decisions.
  • Represent Kmart Group in industry forums and taskforces to strengthen national crime disruption efforts.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Strong background in retail crime prevention, fraud, or investigations (3–5 years).
  • Advanced understanding of Auror is a must
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, advanced formulas)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in BI reporting, SQL, Excel, and data systems is highly desirable
  • Experience with APPRISS is highly desirable
  • Ability to identify risks quickly and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience partnering with law enforcement and external providers.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to develop business cases and measure return on investment.
  • High-level understanding of criminology, privacy obligations, and fraud trends across retail and eCommerce.
