Due to internal promotion, we have two brilliant opportunities for experienced Project Managers to drive the fit-out of the new and existing Kmart Group store projects. The role reports into the Head of Store Development and will see you working closely with all key internal and external stakeholders to ensure stores open on time, on budget and to our high standards. What you’ll be doing
As a Project Manager working for Kmart Group you will:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Â
- Project Managing the fit-out of new Kmart & Target store projects to approved Program, budget and Scope of Work whilst minimising any impact on the store operations or customer experience
- Ensuring detailed Staging Plans are completed, agreed to with Stores, and appropriate tracking measures and milestones are established
- Ensuring best practice processes and procedures are followed for successful, timely and high-quality delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Proactively managing risks, issues, and budgets, with appropriate stakeholder involvement as required
- Providing clear and regular progress updates by maintaining effective communication with the retail stores and the development Team
- Completing the handover of each store from contractors to ensure compliance with the agreed scope of works as well as ensuring maintenance managers follow the completion of all works.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

Education/Qualifications:
Â
- Tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction Management or Architecture or equivalent
- Qualifications in Project Management desirable
- Strong knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Acts, Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards applicable to the construction and fit-out of retail stores

Work Experience:
Â
- Demonstrated experience in the client-side Project Management of the construction and fit-out of retail stores, preferably to DDS or Department Store level
- High level and detailed organisational and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to effect and manage diverse and multi-disciplinary project teams
- Strong exposure to and understanding of retail business environment and pace
- Demonstrated knowledge of local government approvals process including Development / Planning approvals and Building / Construction approvals
- Ability to co-ordinate, facilitate and manage project teams including but not limited to building contractors, trade sub-contractors, suppliers, consultants, lessor representatives, other external and internal stakeholders
