We are seeking a commercially minded and enthusiastic candidate to join our Commercial & Strategy function and support the delivery of our ambitious change program.  

 

This role will work across our most important and complex initiatives that will help deliver our strategy, from supply chain transformation through to stores and our online channels. You will be responsible for commercially supporting these projects to deliver spend, benefit commitments and play a leadership role managing our overall project portfolio working with our commercial finance team.  

 

What you’ll be doing

         

  • Lead financial management of our strategic initiatives including monthly spend reports and forecasts against budget and business case and present to project steering groups. 

  • Co-ordinate analysis to support key project decisions and advise on trade-offs between different options and ensure benefit realisation. 

  • Co-ordinate annual project prioritisation process as part of budgets and ensure corporate plan is aligned to latest projections for strategic initiatives. 

  • Work with broader commercial finance team to oversee overall project portfolio spend and redistribution of spend in-year. 

  • Manage financial risks with effective and transparent reporting and management of project contingency.  

  • Assist in negotiations with external vendors. 

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • 7-10 years’ experience in a similar role leading finance project management and managing financial governance of project portfolios. 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (finance, business, commerce) with additionally completed CPA/CA/CFA. 

  • Experience in retail industry ideal. 

  • System experience with SAP (ideally), TM1, PowerBI and advanced Microsoft excel ability.  

  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to consult and influence. 

  • Multi project management experience, managing deadline, deliverables and outcomes within a large organisation across multiple streams. 

  • Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to own work and collaborate within a team.
