Kmart Australia’s Architecture team are a group of highly experienced Enterprise Architects implementing innovative and scalable solutions to align with our organisation's strategic goals.  Working closely with stakeholders across to drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, promote agility, and ensure long-term sustainability.  Join us in shaping the future of retail technology.

As the Principal Architect for “Better Products” you will partner with senior leaders within our Retail Products and Merchandise & Inventory teams to lay the foundations for our strategic technology investments.


What you’ll be doing

 

  • Working with technology leaders throughout the business to define the technological roadmap and align it to our strategic business objectives.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of our Merch and Inventory solutions, their associated technological risks and engaging with various groups to effectively mitigate the potential losses from adverse events.
  • Driving innovation within our technology teams by embracing new technologies and identifying opportunities to uplift efficiency and resilience. 
  • Working with a independent technology groups within the enterprise to align technologies, standards and platforms.
  • Acting as a mentor to our Solution Architects, enabling us to achieve better outcomes by elevating those around you.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • Demonstrated experience operating as an Enterprise or Principal Architect in large, complex enterprise technology environments.
  • Deep expertise in Cloud Computing, API & Microservices, Enterprise Integration, Security, Risk Management & Governance
  • Demonstrated success in achieving strategic business objectives, through elegant technological roadmaps.
  • Advanced communication skills and a consultative mindset, able to engage with stakeholders of varying technical competence and seniority within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in enabling collaboration between teams to drive delivery.
  • The Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities, effectively context-switching in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
