Join our People and Capability (P&C) team at Kmart Group, where you'll embark on an exciting journey as the Payroll Project Manager, leading the charge in delivering crucial payroll projects across Kmart and Target - spanning Australia and New Zealand. Working collaboratively with key partners such as IT Corporate Systems, DXC, PayGlobal, SAP, and Kronos, you'll be at the forefront of driving innovation and efficiency, ensuring that payroll outcomes meet all compliance standards.

This role is based at our Head Office at Mulgrave and reports directly to the Payroll Operations Manager.

 

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

As a Payroll Project Manager working at Kmart Group, you will:

 

  • Lead the planning and execution of all Payroll related projects for Australian and New Zealand. This includes developing project plans, timelines, and budget control, while ensuring alignment to Business’s goals and requirements.
  • Partner with IT Corporate Systems and associated Payroll Vendors to implement innovative solutions and streamline payroll processes.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and issues, and implementing timely mitigation strategies.
  • Align Payroll ways of working, including streamlining and documenting Payroll processes for both brands.
  • Conduct regular communication sessions, workshops, and training programs to enhance P&C change readiness.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on payroll compliance requirements to cross functional project teams and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in payroll risk management and compliance.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in successfully delivering payroll projects and systems implementation, in a dynamic large scale organization.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations in Australia and New Zealand including knowledge of Awards, Agreements, and interpretation for Payroll purposes.
  • Expertise in SAP Employee Central Payroll, and an understanding of SuccessFactors, and UKG Dimensions.
  • Process design and project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using project methodology.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills with the ability to quickly gain credibility and build rapport.
  • The resolve to follow solutions through to completion, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Certification in project management or business analysis is desirable.
