Reporting directly to the General Manager of Supply Chain, we're looking for a dynamic and visionary Head of Supply Chain Operations. You will lead our Distribution Centers for Kmart and Target across Australia and New Zealand. This senior leadership role demands a strong leader with a knack for optimization. Your mission will be to ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of our Distribution Centers while prioritizing safety, our people, service quality, and financial performance targets. This role is based in Kmart’s National Office in Mulgrave and will require travel to Distribution Centers across Australia and New Zealand.
 

What you’ll be doing

 

As the Head of Supply Chain Operations, you will:

 

  • Optimise our network: You'll be the driving force behind ensuring our Distribution Centers deliver operational excellence and optimisation whilst ensuring merchandise is delivered to stores at the lowest cost.
  • Be a strategic visionary: Strategically you will shape the future of our sites, focus on safety, our people, operational excellence, customer service, strategy, and commercial objectives in line with our Supply Chain Strategy.
  • Be a pioneer for best practice: Seeking and implementing best practices to enhance our business operations and performance.
  • Focus on performance management: Taking charge of 3PLs and Labor Hire by proactive planning, performance monitoring, and ensuring contractual SLAs are met while swiftly addressing any issues.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement: Embrace a Continuous Improvement mindset by initiating, endorsing, and leading a portfolio of projects designed to meet budgeted improvements.
  • Lead a safety culture: Champion a safety-first culture overseeing the entire network and ensuring safety is our key priority.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Warehouse, or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
  • 10 plus years in a similar multi-site leadership role, with a deep understanding of Supply Chain Management, transport management, warehouse management, and labour resourcing.
  • Demonstrated change management expertise and a knack for transformation.
  • Qualifications in Six Sigma or Lean are highly advantageous.
  • Stellar interpersonal and communication skills, capable of delivering key messages at all levels of the organisation.
