Kmart are modernising and optimising our end-to-end supply chain systems and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, deliver a safer working environment for our team and faster delivery of products that delight our customers to nearly 500 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We are creating the next generation of retail supply chain technology with be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems. 

 

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of technical design and implementation for our online store. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and leadership abilities. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of excellence.


What you’ll be doing

 

  • Leading the design, implementation, and scaling of robust solutions for our online store.
  • Taking responsibility for high-level technical design, architecture, and problem-solving.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior developers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining both frontend and backend components using TypeScript, Next.js, and Nest.js.
  • Deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Advocating for and implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.


To be successful in this role you’ll have:

 

  • 7-10 years in software engineering with strong experience in Full Stack development.
  • Advanced expertise in TypeScript with proven experience in Next.js and Nest.js.
  • Solid experience in deploying and managing AWS infrastructure using CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
  • Demonstrated commitment to DevOps culture, including familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and experience mentoring junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in retail or e-commerce is an advantage.
