Exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer in our Homewares Team to join a fun & supportive team within a fast-paced & dynamic environment!

 

What you’ll be doing: 


Our Buying team, in partnership with our Designers, Planners and Global Sourcing team are critical to delivering our business strategy and the success of Kmart. 
 
As a Buyer working for Kmart, you are instrumental in sourcing the best possible products that bring meaningful moments into our customers lives. 

 

Some of the key responsibilities are:
 
•    Developing ranges to establish the appropriate balance of Price, High Volume, basics, quality, innovation and trend to deliver strong category growth.
•    Ability to recognise and interpret trends and build ranges to ensure consistent brand handwriting.
•    Using commercial skills, combined with the ability to analyse customer's needs and research to effectively deliver long term strategic growth.
•    Managing the end -to-end Critical Path process across functions to meet instore dates.
•    Managing and using strategies to achieve the financial plans including sales, profit and stock turn.

To be successful in this role:
 
We're looking for a driven, efficient and enthusiastic individual who will bring a curious mind-set and a passion for all things Buying!  You love delivering product, customers are always front of mind and building and managing relationships with a variety of key stakeholders is one of your strengths. You are a driven, talented and creative buyer looking to be part of the amazing Homewares team and joining one of Australia's most loved retailer then this is the role for you.
As the Buyer in Homewares you will manage key relationships with suppliers to ensure growth for products within your own specified category and to deliver best practice.
 
We'd also love you to have:
 
•    Extensive Buying experience combined with trend awareness (within General Merchandise is essential).
•    Commercial focus working in a dynamic fast paced team.
•    Highly driven and motivated.
•    Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Proven success driving category growth and delivering increased profit.
•    Success oriented - you thrive in a team environment and enjoy being able to contribute to a business where you can drive further growth.
•    Homeware experience is highly desirable.
