We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Inventory team! In this role, you will own the integrity, availability, and communication of inventory data by identifying the right sources, validating numbers, and providing rapid, insight-rich reporting to internal and external stakeholders. You will also deliver ad-hoc analyses, prepare clear documents and presentations for key initiatives, and translate commercial signals into actionable commentary.


What you’ll be doing

As a Business Analyst working for Kmart you will:          

  • Identify and maintain the right source of truth for inventory data across sources.
  • Validate, reconcile, and document metrics (e.g., stock on hand, weeks of cover, stockturn) with robust checks.
  • Manage secure, timely data sharing to external stakeholders with agreed SLAs.
  • Produce rapid, accurate management reporting to tight deadlines (daily/weekly/monthly packs).
  • Run ad-hoc deep dives (e.g., why a store is over/understocked) with clear root-cause analysis and recommended actions.
  • Translate findings into commercial insights and concise commentary that inform decisions.
  • Serve as a primary contact for inventory data queries from internal teams and external partners; respond with clarity and speed.
  • Educate stakeholders on metric definitions, report usage, and self-service best practices.
     

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

We are looking for a curious and independent thinker with the ability to influence and engage effectively with stakeholders.

  • 3-5 years’ experience within Retail, Wholesale and/or Manufacturing
  • Proven ability to execute action plan deliverables in a timely manner
  • Experience in dynamic problem-solving environments
  • Experience in extracting, cleaning and transforming data as well as project/business translation
  • Intermediate skills in Coding - SQL & Python, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment with effective and concise communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
