We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our new state of the art automated omnichannel fulfilment centre in Moorebank and play a critical role in keeping one of Kmart's most advanced fulfilment sites operating at its best.

Reporting to the Asset & Equipment Manager, you'll partner closely with operations teams, automation partners and service providers to ensure our automated fulfilment systems, facilities and equipment continue to perform reliably, safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role where relationships, problem solving and continuous improvement are just as important as technical expertise.

You'll work in a fast-paced and highly automated environment, helping identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime and drive smarter ways of working. If you're someone who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, challenging the status quo and using data and insights to solve problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with our automation provider and site stakeholders to maximise equipment reliability, operational performance and system availability.
  • Manage maintenance and facilities service providers, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with business expectations.
  • Drive preventative maintenance programs that support operational continuity and minimise disruption to fulfilment operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation performance, asset reliability and maintenance practices through data-led insights and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with Operations, Safety, Technology and external partners to support site performance and business outcomes.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities for both automation and the facility, balancing operational requirements with planned maintenance schedules.
  • Lead root cause investigations and problem-solving activities to address recurring issues and improve long-term asset performance.
  • Support future-focused initiatives that improve automation capability, operational efficiency and overall site performance.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Manager and Facilities Manager or similar role within a large automated operational environment.
  • Strong experience managing facilities contractors, service providers and external partners.
  • Exposure to highly automated environments such as distribution centres, logistics, manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Experience working with automation systems and maintenance programs, with a passion for improving reliability and operational performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence across a broad range of internal and external partners.
  • A naturally curious mindset and a passion for understanding problems, uncovering root causes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data, trends and performance insights to support decision-making and drive outcomes.
  • Experience leading automation, maintenance or process improvement initiatives that have delivered measurable operational benefits.
  • A collaborative approach, strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience within supply chain, logistics, warehousing, automation or manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
