Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, the primary objective of this role is to provide commercial thought leadership to the Online fulfilment function, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the customer experience while optimizing fulfilment costs.

 

You'll become part of a high-achieving retail organization, working alongside a results-oriented finance team known for their commitment and expertise. We're seeking a candidate with strong experience in a similar role, who’s ready to thrive in the strategic landscape of commercial finance at Kmart Group. This role offers the flexibility to work from either Mulgrave or Williams Landing.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Commercial Finance Manager working for Kmart Group, you will:          

 

  • Partner with the Online function to identify, develop, and implement action plans aimed at improving business performance whilst continuously lifting the commercial acumen of the team
  • Understand key drivers of performance within the retail and e-commerce landscape, leveraging insights to inform decision-making processes.
  • Play a key role in supporting critical business projects and tracking the implementation of initiatives, including conducting Post-Implementation Reviews (PIRs) to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of our strategies and processes
  • Build strong relationships with the broader Finance and Online leadership teams and be confident in challenging and influencing outcomes as needed.
  • Take ownership of a robust reporting suite ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare business cases and board reports, effectively communicating financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and issues within the retail sector, proactively identifying opportunities and challenges.
  • Manage the calendar planning processes, ensuring alignment between the technology function, Kmart Group and Wesfarmers.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

 

  • A qualification in Finance – either CPA or CA qualified.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a commercial role, with a focus on retail or e-commerce industries
  • Proven track record of driving results and delivering insights that contribute to business success.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability balancing strong commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers within a business with financial governance and pragmatism.
  • Experience with ERP systems  -SAP, TM1 exposure would be beneficial.
