As an Injury & Wellbeing Advisor based in QLD, you will play a critical role in supporting our team members return to work safely after an injury or illness. You will champion early intervention, provide practical and compassionate guidance, and help embed best practice injury management across our business. 

Working closely with leaders, health practitioners and our Group insurers, you will ensure every team member receives the right support at the right time, contributing to safer stores and healthier outcomes for all.

Please note this role is a 12-month, fixed term contract, with the potential to become permanent.


What you’ll be doing

As a Injury & Wellbeing Advisor working for Kmart you will:         

  • Providing early and effective support to team members after an injury or illness to guide recovery and return them to their pre‑injury capacity.
  • Promoting best‑practice injury management strategies with a strong focus on early intervention and durable return‑to‑work outcomes.
  • Coaching and advising leaders and Injury & Wellbeing teams on injury management, policies and procedures.
  • Working closely with Wesfarmers Group Team Cover, treating practitioners and occupational rehab providers to align treatment and return‑to‑work plans.
  • Communicating wellbeing, injury‑prevention and early‑intervention initiatives across the business.
  • Reviewing injury and workers compensation data to identify trends and support proactive strategies.
  • Managing costs associated with treatment, rehab and mental health initiatives in line with budget expectations.
     

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience in injury management and return‑to‑work coordination.
  • A strong understanding of workers compensation legislation, injury management standards and best‑practice rehabilitation principles (self‑insurance experience desirable).
  • The ability to communicate with empathy, influence effectively, and build strong relationships with team members, leaders, and external providers.
  • Proven capability in analysing data, identifying trends and recommending practical solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confidence working across multiple sites and partnering with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in allied health (e.g., psychology, nursing, rehabilitation counselling) or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for wellbeing, safety, and helping people recover and thrive at work.
  • Experience using injury management or case management systems.
