We’re on the hunt for a talented and passionate Digital Art Director to join our in-house creative team on a 12 month fixed-term contract. In this dynamic role, you’ll take the lead on the concept development, execution, and art direction of campaigns across a wide range of formats—from large-format print to digital, social, e-commerce, catalogues, display, and email.

You’ll partner closely with a copywriter and cross-functional teams to bring trade campaigns to life in line with Kmart’s brand strategy. With exposure to diverse categories including apparel, home, active and toys, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll be doing

As a Digital Art Director working for Kmart you will:          

  • Conceptualise, present and execute creative campaigns that align with the Kmart brand and respond to business briefs
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, PR, Merchandise) to develop digital executions (digital catalogues, emails, fit-for-platform executions and more) and print (in-store POS) that delivers impact
  • Partner with agency teams, photographers, stylists, talent and producers to create and ensure output is cohesive, on-brand and on-brief
  • Use Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) to design, present, and produce creative assets across multiple channels 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • A creative mindset with the ability to think strategically, solve problems and translate briefs into bold, customer-centric ideas
  • A strong understanding of content across digital platforms, particularly how to tailor creative for specific social and e-commerce channels
  • Expertise in art direction, with experience briefing and working closely with copywriters, finished artists, stylists and photographers
  • The ability to balance big-picture conceptual thinking with a sharp eye for design and detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual presentation skills
  • Experience in advertising or retail environments
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • A collaborative nature and ability to stakeholder manage and build strong working relationships across teams
  • A hands-on approach and ownership mindset—you take pride in your work and understand how it contributes to the bigger picture
