This pivotal role leads the design, delivery, and operation of secure, customer‑centric platforms powering retail, e‑commerce, and supply chain operations. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll align technology investments with business priorities, foster innovation, and build the capabilities that enable rapid international expansion.

You’ll oversee cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance practices aligned with global standards, while establishing scalable support models and vendor partnerships across diverse geographies. Equally important, you’ll inspire and develop a high‑performing team—coaching, mentoring, and driving operational excellence. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of technology at Anko Global and the wider Kmart Group, ensuring resilient operations and leaving a lasting mark on a business poised for global growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead technology strategy for the rapidly expanding Anko group and its global IT teams.

  • Lead the adoption, integration, and rollout of end-to-end B2B and B2C systems for new retail business ventures.
  • Drive Anko’s “stores of the future” initiatives, integrating advanced store technology and evolving retail practices.
  • Own retail technology requirements across merchandising, inventory, POS, and supply chain logistics.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of core systems, including ERP, POS, e commerce, and integration platforms.
  • Establish agile delivery practices and high performing cross functional teams to drive speed and accountability.
  • Oversee service management, vendor partnerships, and technology platform subscriptions to ensure resilience and cost efficiency, balancing short term delivery needs with long term technology investments
  • Manage cross geography communication and investment decisions, ensuring maximum availability and system resilience

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in broad, end to end IT management, specifically supporting bricks and mortar retail operations.
  • Experience supporting retail operations across South-East Asia.
  • Strong background in risk management, cybersecurity, and compliance practices.
  • Familiarity with modern technologies and transformation approaches, including cloud, automation, and digital, plus experience in reorganisation and optimising security functions
  • Exposure to retail inventory systems and local logistics operations, ideally within complex environments.
  • The ability to design and implement scalable systems for both B2B and B2C businesses.
  • Experience managing joint venture partnerships and navigating geographical challenges, with a view towards Asia and the Middle East
  • Highly developed capabilities in vendor management, budgeting, and understanding how scaling impacts future costs.
  • Familiarity with retail management systems, AI applications, and modern technology hosting models.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic leadership capability to balance immediate priorities with long term vision, while mentoring diverse teams.
