We’re on the lookout for a Commercial Finance Manager to partner with our Store Operations team, partnering with senior operational leaders, influencing strategic decisions, and driving financial outcomes that directly impact millions of customers every week.

 

This is a chance to lead the financial rhythm of the Store Operations function, from labour modelling and rostering efficiency to operating cost optimisation and long‑term strategic planning. You’ll guide budgeting and forecasting cycles, uncover the drivers behind performance, and provide the commercial clarity our leaders rely on to make confident, data‑driven decisions.

What you’ll be doing

 

As our Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the financial performance of our store network across Australia and New Zealand.

 

You will:

 

  • Lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles for Store Operations, ensuring accuracy, insight, and alignment to business strategy.
  • Provide trusted commercial advice to senior leaders, influencing decisions that drive profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver deep financial and operational analysis to uncover performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
  • Build business cases, evaluate initiatives, and conduct post‑implementation reviews to ensure strong ROI and commercial value.
  • Support long‑term strategic planning, including KPI governance, tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Develop and lead a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.


 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

We’re looking for a commercially minded leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings strong financial expertise.

 

You will have:

 

  • Proven experience in commercial finance or business partnering, ideally within Retail or FMCG.
  • Strong analytical capability, advanced financial modelling skills, and proficiency in tools such as Excel and regression analysis.
  • A CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) and at least 10 years’ experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge the status quo, and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience building and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, curiosity, and the ability to anticipate future business needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
