We're looking for a Workforce Optimisation Lead to join our Customer & Team Member Experience team and help drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement across Kmart's store network.

 

Using data, analysis and scenario modelling, you'll identify opportunities to improve workforce performance and help ensure our stores are set up to deliver great outcomes for both customers and team members.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytically minded professional who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, influencing decision-making through data and delivering meaningful business improvements at scale.


What you’ll be doing

 

  • Analyse labour usage, workforce performance and productivity metrics to identify optimisation opportunities across the store network.
  • Support the validation, refinement and ongoing maintenance of labour standards to ensure they reflect real operational requirements.
  • Develop insight-led recommendations that improve labour efficiency, productivity and workforce outcomes.
  • Build and maintain scenario models to assess the impact of workforce changes, demand shifts and labour allocation strategies.
  • Partner with Workforce Design, Demand Planning and operational stakeholders to support workforce optimisation initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support for workforce planning decisions, helping translate business challenges into practical solutions.
  • Track initiative performance and benefits realisation, ensuring measurable outcomes are delivered.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs that simplify processes, improve execution and enhance operational consistency.
     

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience in workforce planning, workforce optimisation, analytics, operations or a related field.
  • Experience within retail or other customer-facing operational environments and an understanding of store operations will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets to identify trends, opportunities and actionable insights.
  • Exposure to labour modelling, scheduling, productivity analysis or workforce management practices.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to develop models that support decision-making and business outcomes.
  • Experience using workforce management systems such as UKG Pro Workforce Management or similar platforms will be highly regarded.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance detailed analysis with practical, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into meaningful recommendations.
  • Experience supporting operational improvement, productivity or optimisation initiatives within large and complex environments.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
