We’re looking for a State Services Manager to join our Facilities team. Based in Melbourne, this role is responsible for the end-to-end performance, compliance and delivery of facilities services across our VIC/TAS region.

Operating as the key link between national strategy and in-store execution, this role ensures our stores receive safe, compliant and high-quality services across Cleaning, Waste, Hygiene Pest, Recycling and Trolley operations. You’ll work closely with store teams, contractors and cross-functional partners to translate standards into action, resolve issues at pace and continuously lift service outcomes.

This is a hands-on, field-focused role suited to someone who enjoys being close to operations, thrives in complexity and is motivated by delivering tangible improvements in service, safety and customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the end-to-end delivery and performance of facilities services across your allocated state(s), ensuring standards are consistently met
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to validate service quality, safety and compliance outcomes
  • Act as the primary escalation point for store-level service issues, driving timely and effective resolution
  • Manage service providers against SLAs, holding them accountable for performance, quality and responsiveness
  • Ensure cleaning, waste, pest and related services meet regulatory, safety and brand requirements
  • Identify risks, service gaps and cost pressures, escalating and addressing issues in line with governance frameworks
  • Support cost control by ensuring services are delivered within agreed scope and commercial parameters
  • Provide structured reporting, insights and recommendations to support performance improvements and national decision-making
  • Build strong relationships with Store Managers and operational teams, providing guidance on service expectations and escalation pathways
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying systemic issues and contributing to uplift in service standards and delivery models

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience managing services or facilities operations across multi-site environments
  • Strong contractor and vendor management capability, with experience driving performance against SLAs
  • Solid understanding of safety, compliance and hygiene standards within a retail or operational setting
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues in a fast-paced, reactive environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across stores, contractors and support functions
  • Commercial awareness, with experience identifying cost pressures and ensuring delivery within agreed budgets or scope
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and implement practical improvements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a clear and structured approach
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail, with a proactive and outcome-focused mindset
