Brighter Futures Start Here

The Anko brand is owned by the highly successful, Australian-based Kmart Group, and the Anko Global business is the steward for international expansion.  With over 1.2 billion products sold annually across markets in ANZ, Europe, North America, the Group is now looking to expand its presence through Anko-branded stores in Southeast Asia.

In joint venture with the Ayala Corporation and Kmart Group Australia, the first Anko store in the Philippines was launched late 2024 in Makati with five stores now available across Metro Manila. These Anko stores provide shoppers with quality, design, and affordability all in one place with products across key categories like home, kitchen, toys, and beauty.  The response from Filipino shoppers has been very positive which has driven the development an ambitious expansion program.

Purpose of the role

The Space & Layout Planner plays a pivotal role in bringing Anko’s much loved product range to life in store. Working at the intersection of art and science, this role ensures that store layouts, planograms and merchandising guides deliver a compelling customer experience while optimising space, range and commercial outcomes.

What you will deliver:

In this role, you will be accountable for translating merchandising strategy into clear, executable store layouts that drive sales, profitability and ease of execution. Key deliverables include:

  • Optimising store space using financial, visual and operational insights, balancing range commitments with space productivity.
  • Leveraging data, reporting and space optimisation tools (including Power BI and space management software) to identify opportunities to improve layouts, adjacencies and flow.
  • Supporting stores with clear, practical implementation guidance, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency across the store network.
  • Partnering closely with Category, Merchandise and Country teams to provide timely layout updates, communication packs and change guides.
  • Contributing to the development of scalable merchandising standards and processes, suited to a fast‑paced, start‑up environment.

What you’ll bring:

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a blend of technical space planning expertise, commercial thinking and creative problem‑solving, along with the confidence to work in ambiguity.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience developing planograms and store layouts for multi‑store or growing retail networks.
  • Comfortable working in fast‑changing environments where processes are still being built.

Technical Capability

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and time zones.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, prioritising effectively and meeting tight deadlines.
