The Kmart Architecture team partners with teams across our business to shape technology outcomes that support millions of customers and thousands of team members every day. As a Solution Architect aligned to the Digital domain, you’ll work across customer-facing platforms and experiences, helping teams solve complex problems, make sound technology decisions and deliver outcomes that create measurable value for customers and the business.

You’ll work closely with engineering, product, business, delivery and vendor teams to shape solution direction, guide key design decisions and support successful delivery outcomes. You’ll be part of a collaborative architecture practice that balances strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery.

You’ll play a key role in defining how digital capabilities evolve across ecommerce, customer engagement, fulfilment, personalisation, search, mobile and supporting digital platforms, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, resilient, secure, supportable and aligned to Kmart Group’s broader technology strategy and roadmaps.

What you’ll be doing
Â
- Design solution architectures that support digital products, customer experiences, cloud services, integrations and supporting technology capabilities.
- Partner with business, product, engineering, delivery and vendor teams to shape solution options, navigate trade-offs and guide design decisions.
- Produce architecture artefacts, solution designs and decision records that support delivery teams throughout implementation.
- Assess solution impacts across systems, platforms, integrations and operational processes.
- Ensure solutions consider security, resilience, scalability, supportability and operational readiness.
- Identify architecture risks, issues, dependencies and technical debt, and work with teams to manage them effectively.
- Align solution designs with enterprise standards, architecture patterns and technology roadmaps.
- Participate in architecture reviews, governance forums and design discussions, providing practical guidance to delivery teams.
- Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, translating complex technology concepts into clear business outcomes.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
Â
- Extensive experience delivering solution architecture in large and complex enterprise environments.
- Experience designing customer-facing digital solutions across web, mobile, ecommerce and related digital platforms, including demonstrable mobile application architecture experience.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, integration patterns and event-driven design approaches.
- Experience working with business stakeholders, delivery teams, vendors and architecture governance processes.
- Ability to balance business outcomes, architectural standards, delivery timelines and risk considerations.
- Experience producing solution designs, architecture artefacts, decision records and governance submissions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Understanding of modern retail and digital ecosystems, including customer engagement, personalisation, search, data and marketing technology platforms.
- A collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving problems and guiding teams through delivery challenges.
