What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and evolving solution architecture across our mobile platform, including apps, backend services and integrations.

  • Reviewing and challenging solution designs constructively, proposing practical and improved approaches where needed.
  • Ensuring solutions are designed with clear consideration for performance, scalability, security and cost.
  • Identifying dependencies, delivery risks and architectural trade-offs, and communicating them clearly.
  • Partnering with Enterprise Architecture and broader technology teams to align with standards and roadmaps.Contributing to planning, sequencing and prioritisation across delivery initiatives.
  • Managing and reducing technical debt while supporting ongoing platform evolution.
  • Acting as a bridge between business and technology, translating complex concepts into clear outcomes.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Extensive experience designing and delivering solution architectures in modern, cloud-based environments.
  • Strong engineering and architecture credibility, with the ability to go deep into technical detail.
  • Experience with mobile-first architecture, including native or cross-platform frameworks and supporting services.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience working in digital or retail environments, ideally across ecommerce or customer platforms.
  • Awareness of modern retail and MarTech ecosystems (for example personalisation, messaging or customer data platforms).
  • Proven ability to balance architectural quality with delivery pragmatism and timelines.
  • Clear accountability mindset across performance, cost and dependencies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams.

Perks and benefits we’ll offer you:

  • Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy, spending 60% of your week in our National Office
