Join the team
Kmart Group is transforming how digital products support our stores, teams, and customers, with Product Design playing a central role in shaping that future.  We’re looking for a senior Product Design practitioner to join our Store Experience team on a fixed‑term engagement through to January 2027.
Â
This role is suited to an experienced Product Designer who brings strong design judgement, systems thinking, and the confidence to influence product direction at scale.  You’ll work embedded within a cross‑functional squad alongside Product and Engineering, shaping complex digital products that support real‑world store operations and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Â
It’s a role for someone who enjoys working end‑to‑end, partnering closely with stakeholders, and lifting design maturity - not just delivering screens.Â
Â
What you’ll be doing
Â
- Leading end‑to‑end product design across discovery, definition, and delivery.Â
- Framing complex problems, running discovery, and translating insights into clear product direction.Â
- Designing scalable, intuitive experiences across web and mobile that support store teams at scale.Â
- Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers to influence roadmap decisions and delivery priorities.Â
- Prototyping, testing, and iterating to reduce delivery risk and improve outcomes.Â
- Contributing to the evolution of shared design systems, patterns, and ways of working.Â
- Communicating strong design rationale and influencing decisions through evidence and insight.Â
- Applying AI-assisted approaches to accelerate discovery, ideation, and delivery — including collaborating with Product and Engineering on how AI can enhance product capabilities and user experiences.Â
Â
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
Â
- Extensive experience as a Product Designer working on complex, real‑world digital products.
- Strong product design craft across interaction design, information architecture, task flows, and interface design.
- Demonstrated experience leading discovery and shaping ambiguous problem spaces.
- Confidence operating at a senior level, influencing product direction and stakeholder decisions.
- Experience designing within mature product teams and Agile delivery environments.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to design for scale, consistency, and long‑term product evolution.
- Proficiency with design and collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro.
- Experience using AI thoughtfully as part of the product development process — improving how teams discover, design, and deliver, while maintaining strong judgement and quality standards.Â
Â
Benefits we’ll offer you:
Â
- Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy. Â
- A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Officeworks and BunningsÂ
- Access to the Kmart for You benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health – with over 60 suppliers! Â
- We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work that's why eligible team members get the opportunity to participate in a bonus programÂ
- We offer inclusive parental leave, and ongoing support offered though our partnership with Circle In for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances Â
- A dynamic learning and support programÂ
- Opportunity to fast track your career through our Mentor Program as a Mentee or MentorÂ
- A Kudos recognition program, where you are nominated by your peers to spin a wheel, to win a stack of cool prizesÂ
- Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers GroupÂ
