The newly created role of Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs & Strategy at Kmart Group will focus on creating and delivering a comprehensive regulatory engagement strategy for Kmart Group.

Working across the Kmart Group, focusing on regulatory change and reforms, managing correspondence with all Group regulators, maintaining compliance tools and providing confidence and assurance to internal and external stakeholders that all appropriate regulatory change is implemented.

Having a background and proven expertise in privacy and the ability to successfully work with businesses to influence and oversee the implementation of regulatory change and reform. What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs & Strategy working for Kmart you will:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Â
- Design and execution of Group regulatory strategies to meet business objectives and legal requirements. Drive line 2 governance of regulatory matters and provide timely regulatory advice and assurance across the Group
- Lead Group regulatory relationships across key regulators including ACCC, NZCC, ACMA, OAIC and relevant state-based regulators, ensuring the maintenance of a trusted and transparent relationship.
- Managing responses to regulatory requests and working closely with business areas to ensure Kmart Group understands and delivers against regulatory expectations.
- Support, challenge, and guide the businesses within the Group with regulatory changes and monitor actions are completed to meet compliance in a timely manner. Â
- Develop insights and action/treatment plans for further improvement based on learnings from engaging with the regulator and reviewing the control environment.
- Analyzing the diverse regulatory landscape and providing strategic insights into materials for senior stakeholders, outlining current and emerging regulatory risks and trends for the Kmart Group.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of regulatory strategies with business objectives. Creating meaningful progress report for Group regulators to ensure Kmart continue to deliver on regulator agreement and ongoing obligations.
- Inform regulatory policy and frameworks to ensure Kmart Group meet its ongoing obligations aligned with best practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements across the Group.
- Leading a team of regulatory specialists and working with your peers within the Risk and Compliance team to drive a strong risk and compliance culture.
- Collaborating closely with internal teams and executive stakeholders to ensure compliance with our regulatory obligations is seamlessly integrated across the businessÂ

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, legal or a related field, preferably within retail or a highly regulated industry, with a good appreciation of privacy and data.
- A Relevant qualification in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Ideally experience in managing key Group regulator engagements with consumer and competition, privacy regulators both domestically and abroad wherever Kmart may operate.
- Experience in establishing a Group strategy and liaising, communicating, influencing external regulatory relationships
- Strong knowledge of legal and compliance principles in all locations where Kmart Group operates
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced or intricately regulated environment, where meeting strict deadlines is paramount.
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting and implementing training programs and frameworks to educate the broader business on regulatory matters.
- Experience in leading teams and working in an ambiguous, fast paced changing environment.
- Comfort in shaping and positioning /messaging at Executive level up to the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Demonstrated capability of leading teams, working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a culture of shared success.
