We’re looking for a Senior Learning Systems Specialist to step into a pivotal role supporting Kmart Group’s learning technology ecosystem across Kmart and Target brands. As the senior technical lead and 2IC within the Learning Systems team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our learning platforms are stable, compliant, well‑governed, and continuously improving for team members and contractors.

What you’ll be doing

As a  Senior Learning Systems Specialist working for Kmart Group you will:          

  • Lead technical governance across LMS configurations, system standards, naming conventions, rulesets, and quality controls.
  • Perform complex configuration changes, troubleshoot issues with IT and vendors, and act as the senior escalation point for technical challenges.
  • Oversee data integrity, conduct audits, and ensure integrations and audience structures operate accurately and reliably.
  • Support content developers and instructional designers with course setup, structure, navigation, and multimedia integration.
  • Manage release cycles including UAT, regression testing, deployment coordination, and post‑release validation.
  • Provide advanced technical support to users and act as the subject matter expert for all learning systems matters.
  • Oversee BAU workload, triage escalations, and operate as day‑to‑day 2IC when the Manager is unavailable.
  • Develop reporting solutions, analyse learning data, and provide insights that support compliance and decision‑making.
     

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Advanced LMS configuration expertise across program structures, certifications, rules, permissions, automation and audience structures.
  • Strong experience in system governance, quality gates, change control, and risk management.
  • Proven experience managing release cycles, upgrades, migrations, hotfixes, and UAT processes.
  • Previous experience implementing or supporting AI‑enabled features within LMS platforms (e.g., recommendations, adaptive pathways, AI‑driven analytics).
  • A passion for emerging learning technologies, with the ability to assess, pilot and safely integrate AI‑powered tools that enhance efficiency and learner experience.
  • Solid understanding of integrations, APIs, and HR data flows in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, including scoping, planning and delivering learning system projects.
  • Experience working in high‑volume, multi‑stakeholder environments with competing priorities and tight timeframes.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to create system guides, process documentation and user tools.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with IT, Safety, Audit, Operations and other business units.
