We are an inclusive team who power two of the most iconic and loved brands, Kmart and Target. We have more than 50,000 passionate individuals across our stores, distribution centres, and offices around the globe.

With our brands touching the lives of almost two million customers every week, you’ll feel the impact of the work you’ll do every day. As a leader in the retail market, we’re optimistic about our future and yours. We’re changing at a rapid rate, giving you challenging work that you’ll be proud of.

Join the team

We’re looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Customer Experience and Insights function, supporting senior leaders across the business with high‑quality, actionable insights.  This is a senior individual contributor role suited to someone who builds strong stakeholder relationships and focuses on solving meaningful business questions rather than producing routine reporting.

You’ll be the second analyst in a rapidly growing team.  With exposure to senior leaders and part of a broader analytics community across Online, Data Engineering, and Store Analytics, this role offers scope to shape how insights are delivered while operating with a high degree of autonomy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partnering closely with senior stakeholders to understand strategic and commercial questions that need insight support.
  • Translating loosely defined problems into clear analytical approaches and practical recommendations.
  • Delivering customer and market insights that help inform decision‑making across the business.
  • Balancing ad‑hoc analysis with scalable, automated reporting to minimise low‑value repetitive work.
  • Managing stakeholder expectations in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Working independently with limited direction, using judgement to prioritise and refine outputs.
  • Leveraging the broader analytics and data engineering ecosystem to access technical support as needed.
  • Exploring practical use of AI‑assisted tools to improve analysis efficiency, insight generation, and storytelling.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Extensive experience delivering insights in a commercial or business‑facing environment.
  • Strong SQL capability, with experience working directly with large and imperfect datasets.
  • Experience producing insights using tools such as Power BI, with R or Python as a bonus.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including confidence working with senior leaders in challenging forums.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and incomplete data, focusing on progress and impact rather than perfection.
  • Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate insights and recommendations to non‑technical audiences.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and a broad skill set; deep in analysis, but able to connect insights across strategy, customer behaviour, and commercial context.
  • Backgrounds in analytics, economics, ecommerce, engineering, finance, or behavioural science are all well suited.
  • Analytics and Insights experience in retail environments is advantageous but not essential.

Benefits we’ll offer you:

  • Flexible hybrid working options through our Flex Where, Flex When, Flex Well policy.
  • A team member discount card that gives you a discount at Kmart, Target, Officeworks and Bunnings
  • Access to the Kmart for You benefits program which entitles you to exclusive discounts and benefits in the areas of entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and health – with over 60 suppliers!
  • We want you to feel rewarded for your commitment and hard work that's why eligible team members get the opportunity to participate in a bonus program
  • We offer inclusive parental leave, and ongoing support offered though our partnership with Circle In for team members of all backgrounds and family circumstances
  • A dynamic learning and support program
  • Opportunity to fast track your career through our Mentor Program as a Mentee or Mentor
  • A Kudos recognition program, where you are nominated by your peers to spin a wheel, to win a stack of cool prizes
  • Great career opportunities across the broader Wesfarmers Group
