We’re looking for a Senior Customs Broker to support the smooth and compliant flow of products into our business. In this role, you’ll ensure accurate tariff classification, timely AQIS and customs lodgements, and full adherence to regulatory requirements across Australia and New Zealand.

You’ll work closely with our Merchandise teams, DCs and regulatory agencies to keep stock moving, reduce delays and maintain a high standard of compliance. You’ll also play a key role in coaching junior team members, solving complex import challenges and supporting a collaborative, efficient customs function.

What you’ll be doing
- Verifying and identifying products against the Customs Tariff and applying accurate classification.
- Preparing and lodging customs declarations, AQIS/AEP entries and supporting documentation.
- Ensuring all declared data is accurate, complete and compliant with ABF, DAFF and related regulations.
- Identifying tariff concessions and applying tariff and valuation advice where appropriate.
- Managing biosecurity queries, holds, inspections and treatments to achieve timely clearance.
- Providing expert advice to Merchandise and other stakeholders on import processes and required documentation.
- Educating teams on customs, quarantine and compliance requirements by product category.
- Acting as an escalation point for problem entries and resolving issues quickly to minimise operational impact.
- Supporting continuous improvement, quality checks and best-practice customs processes.
- Coaching junior customs staff and supporting the Customs Manager to build a strong team culture.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
You’re a detail-focused, compliance-driven customs professional with excellent judgement and strong analytical skills. You bring deep experience in classification, AQIS/DAFF processes and complex entries — and you’re confident working under pressure to meet deadlines.

You’ll also bring:

- A current Customs Broker Licence and DAFF accreditation.
- 5–7 years’ experience in customs broking, including working with ABF, AQIS/DAFF and other regulatory bodies.
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, on-time customs and quarantine entries (including high-volume peak periods).
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence and educate others.
- Strong system capability (Expedient, Integrated Cargo System, Microstrategy, Microsoft Office).
- A proactive approach, commitment to continuous improvement and a strong risk and compliance mindset.
