We’re looking for a People & Capability Advisory Team Leader, to lead our Tier 1 Advisory team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape capability, uplift service quality, and play a key role in how we support our people across the Kmart Group.


What you’ll be doing

As a People & Capability Advisory Team Leader, working for Kmart Group you will:          

  • Lead, coach, and support the Tier 1 Advisory team to deliver high‑quality, consistent HR advice.
  • Oversee workplace matters and case management, acting as the escalation point for complex or sensitive issues.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor case trends, risks, and performance metrics, providing insights and reporting to senior leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including policy refinement, process optimisation, and capability uplift.
  • Support the delivery of HR projects, change initiatives, and advisory service enhancements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration across P&C and the wider business.
  • Promote a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and high performance within the team.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • A Diploma in HR or a related discipline (Advanced Diploma or postgraduate study highly regarded).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in HR, employee relations, or advisory roles, ideally at a senior or specialist level.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, industrial relations, and case management processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Experience managing complex workplace issues, investigations, and dispute resolution.
  • Proficiency with cloud‑based HR systems, particularly SuccessFactors, and case management platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Excel or Power BI to interpret trends and performance data.
  • Experience leading or contributing to HR projects, continuous improvement initiatives, or change management activities.
