We're looking for a Payroll Advisor to join our Payroll team and help ensure team members are paid accurately and on time. Sitting within our People & Capability function, this role plays a critical part in delivering a positive team member experience through accurate payroll processing, compliance and exceptional customer service.

 

Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you'll partner with stores, People & Capability teams and external payroll providers to support payroll operations, investigate and resolve payroll queries, maintain compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. While you'll work across a broad range of payroll activities, this is not an end-to-end payroll role, with a strong focus on payroll processing, administration and operational support


What you’ll be doing

  • Process payroll activities to ensure team members are paid accurately and on time.
  • Review, investigate and action payroll exceptions, errors and corrections within required payroll timeframes.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll and wage-related queries from team members and stakeholders.
  • Process employment-related workflows including new hires, terminations, employment changes and cost centre updates.
  • Complete payroll audits, compliance checks and reporting activities to support legislative and business requirements.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reporting to support payroll operations and business needs.
  • Manage workers compensation payments and associated payroll administration.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to resolve issues and support payroll system improvements.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities for payroll system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance at all times.

 

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Previous payroll experience within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach to resolving payroll queries.
  • Experience working with payroll and HR systems, with SuccessFactors (EC and ECP) or Dimensions highly regarded.
  • Exposure to Awards, Enterprise Agreements (EBAs) or similar industrial agreements is highly regarded and will support success in this role.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
