We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor - Team Leader to help deliver an exceptional and compliant payroll service across our business. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing the weekly pay run, ensuring accuracy, supporting continuous improvement, and being a trusted point of contact for stores and internal teams.

What you’ll be doing
As a Payroll Advisor - Team Leader working for Kmart Group you will:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- Managing the end‑to‑end weekly pay run, including file preparation, review reports, Tuesday corrections, and error follow‑up.
- Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, data entry, system updates and maintaining compliance with employment and tax legislation.
- Delivering weekly, monthly and quarterly compliance reporting, identifying issues early and supporting external audit requirements.
- Providing daily operational support, including reporting, reviewing complex queries, and overseeing etivity updates (pay changes, store setups, public holidays, child employment, etc.).
- Identifying system improvements, raising change requests, completing UAT/PVT, and documenting all testing.
- Acting as a key contact for stores and DXC, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Supporting best‑practice payroll administration and ensuring the function remains up to date and compliant at all times.
- Contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing payroll environment through effective communication and teamwork.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- 5-7 years’ experience in payroll within a large, high‑volume organisation.
-  Proven leadership capability with experience coaching, developing, and guiding payroll teams to achieve high performance and operational excellence
- Strong capability across SuccessFactors (EC & ECP), Dimensions, and Pay Global at intermediate to advanced levels.
- Solid understanding of EBA/Award interpretation, payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail, with excellent numerical, administrative, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and confidently prioritise competing tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced).
- A team‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering accurate, timely and customer‑centric payroll service.
