Join our team
Our Point of Sale (POS) Systems Team is responsible for the technology behind every transaction in our stores — from payment solutions to the software that powers our registers.  We support, maintain, and enhance our point-of-sale platforms while driving our transition toward modern, scalable technologies.  You’ll be joining a collaborative engineering team focused on both problem-solving and building the next generation of POS capabilities.

What you’ll be doing:

- Providing both support and development for our POS systems, including 3rd-line technical escalations from the Support Desk.
- Working closely with our store and innovation teams to plan, develop and deploy new capabilities to our Stores, enhancing our customers checkout experience.
- Taking part in an on-call roster when required, supporting our busy retail network.
- Working with technologies such as Typescript, C# / .NET, SQL, PowerShell, Java and elements of POS hardware.
- Engaging with CI/CD pipelines and understanding how automated testing fits into the deployment process.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:

- Experience as a software engineer with both development skills and hands-on support responsibilities.
- Experience in software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
- Strong knowledge of Typescript and C# / .NET.
- Proficiency in developing, debugging and optimising PowerShell scripts.
- Experience in utilising scripting languages to customise installations, manage application dependencies and ensure silent, unattended installations.
- Background in supporting POS systems, retail environments, or payment solutions (highly regarded).
- Experience providing 3rd-line support and working in environments where reliability is critical.
- Solid understanding of SQL, plus some exposure to POS hardware troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
