We have two exciting opportunities for Internal Communications Advisors to join our Corporate Affairs team, supporting internal communications across the Kmart Group.

These roles sit within the same team and work closely together, with one role focused on content and storytelling, and the other focused on events and team member engagement.

In both roles, you’ll partner with leaders and teams across the business to connect our team members with strategy, priorities and culture. Whether through compelling written content or engaging internal events, you’ll play a key role in bringing our internal story to life across the organisation.


What you’ll be doing

Depending on the role you’re appointed to, your focus will be primarily on content or events, with close collaboration across both areas.

Content‑focused responsibilities include:

  • Create clear, engaging written and digital content across internal channels including intranet, newsletters, leadership communications and digital platforms.
  • Translate complex business information into accessible and compelling messaging for internal audiences.
  • Identify and develop internal stories that celebrate achievements, highlight team members and reinforce culture.
  • Support the management of internal communication channels and content calendars.
  • Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to improve content effectiveness.


Events‑focused responsibilities include:

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of internal events such as town halls, leadership forums, engagement initiatives and team celebrations.
  • Develop event communications including invitations, presentations, scripts and follow‑up materials.
  • Manage event logistics including timelines, suppliers, venues, run sheets and coordination.
  • Coordinate external suppliers such as event agencies, designers, photographers and videographers.
  • Ensure events are well‑executed, engaging and aligned with organisational messaging and objectives.


Across both roles, you will:

  • Partner closely with leaders and stakeholders to support internal communication initiatives.
  • Ensure messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement across internal communications and engagement.
  • Maintain content calendars and support the effective use of internal communication channels.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by monitoring engagement and identifying opportunities to enhance internal communications and events.


To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Experience supporting internal communications in a corporate or large‑scale environment is highly desirable.
  • Capability aligned to the role you’re applying for, with:
    • Experience coordinating or delivering internal events and engagement initiatives (for the events‑focused role)
    • Experience filming and editing video content, with a strong focus on editing and producing content efficiently for internal use (for the content‑focused role).
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging communications for internal audiences.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders across different parts of the business and building positive working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high‑quality work.
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach and a genuine interest in connecting team members through effective communication.
