We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customer Data Governance Analyst to join our Customer Data Governance team! Based at our brand new office in Chadstone, you will be part of a small collaborative team, shaping and leading data quality, master data and metadata management initiatives whilst also ensuring appropriate compliance monitoring and checks are in place to detect and address issues quickly.
We are looking for an independent and critical thinker with a continuous improvement mindset who can partner with key stakeholders to shape how customer data is used across KMG, ensuring it is governed, protected, and utilized effectively.
What you’ll be doing
As a Customer Data Governance Analyst working for Kmart you will:
- Lead the implementation of controls across systems and processes to support compliance with KMG’s data governance policies and Customer Data Management Standards.
- Collaborate with the data platform team and data stewards to implement and review Data Quality metrics, monitoring and remediation.
- Lead the implementation of our Data Governance tool Alation, Mmaintaining metadata, lineage and business glossaries for data owned by the Customer group.
- Support the Customer Data Governance Lead to monitor and maintain legal, regulatory and contractual obligations in relation to the use and management of customer data.
- Support Compliance and Privacy investigations to conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution.
- Support the rollout and enforcement of customer data retention policies across systems. Work with tech teams to ensure data lifecycle rules are implemented and monitored.
- Provide Data Governance advice to business and technical stakeholders – documenting and communicating rules and processes for teams to utilise.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- 5-7 years’ experience working in data governance or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to effectively drive people, process and technical changes in line with data governance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in evaluating and guiding the correct use of customer data throughout the data lifecycle in accordance with policies, contractual obligations and relevant laws (Privacy Act, Spam Act).
- Understanding of architecture and database management and implementation of technical controls to meet compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience in working with development teams and stewards to implement data quality management practices
- Experience in the customer data domain and preferably retail industry
- Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of data governance tools, preferably Alation and Soda
