We have an exciting opportunity for a Copywriter to join our team! You will be responsible for writing original and compelling omni channel content for Kmart’s internal and external communications.

We’re looking for someone curious and adaptable, excited to explore emerging technologies and future-focused solutions to drive smarter, innovative outcomes


What you’ll be doing

As a Copywriter working for Kmart you will:          

  • Write clear, compelling and on-brand content for various mediums across Kmart’s brand including digital media, EDMs, Written Communications website, app, social and internal communications.
  • Edit and proof read copy as needed. Manage copy proofs, feedback and job tracking.
  • Be a guardian of the brand and TOV guidelines. 
  • Proactively suggest updates to TOV based on emerging channels 
  • Follow the key parts of the process. Projects delivered on time. Keeps line manager, piers, departments and agency partners across project progress. 
  • Contribute to ideation for initiatives in response to marketing and product briefs.
  • Work both independently and closely with an Art Director to conceptualise

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • 2+ years' industry experience working on digital and through-the-line large scale end to end campaigns.
  • Relevant copywriting experience from a brand or agency environment 
  • Understand sales and marketing strategies and objectives to inform creative copy outputs
  • Long and short form copywriting experience, with the ability to understand brand personality, position and tone of voice. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Solid understanding of how digital content is consumed and presented - A sound knowledge of SEO techniques and principles 
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines in busy environment.
  • Ability to produce quick creative copy and headlines and come up with ideas under pressure.
